This scrunchie's fabric is made of Tango Chirimen crepe fabric and Tsumugi tough texture silk.
The black woven letters says, "NANTEN MONYOU", which is name of this fabric's woven pattern.

"Nanten" is a plant, nandina. This sounds just like 難(Difficulty /troubles) 転(turns), so this patterns is loved as "luck", turning the diffulty to easiness, turning troubles into easy-going.
